This guide provides instructions on how to test the viability of potential Trust Zone installation configurations (i.e. locations, antenna heights, etc.), prior to permanently installing the Zone Anchors. These steps involve onboarding to the FOAM network, using SSH to log into your Zone Anchors, running a command called “packet-align”, and then capturing, analyzing, and sharing the results with the Foamspace team, to get approval for permanently installing Zone Anchors.
These steps are mandatory to test the viability of your exact locations, antenna placements, etc. before permanently installing the Zone Anchors (including antennas), to prevent issues with poor signal due to obstructions and other environmental phenomena. Sometimes, only moving a Zone Anchor and/or antenna a few feet can dramatically change the signal, so it is important to execute these pre-tests before permanently installing.
⚠️ Before starting the pre-installation testing documented in this guide, you should be finished assembling all four or more Zone Anchors (i.e. finished all steps in the Assembly Manual), and have met with the Foamspace team to review, update, and provision your assembled Zone Anchors.
⚠️ Note that you must complete all of section ‘4.1 - Setting Up Access to Your Zone’ and ‘4.2 Confirming Access to Your Zone’ before going into the field and doing the pre-installation testing documented in section ‘5.1 Physically Pre-Install Your Zone Anchors’ and ‘5.2 Pre-Installation Testing’.
