These are general guidelines for finding locations to use and/or lease to install Zone Anchors at. We cover the characteristics of suitable locations and tips for approaching property owners, including the most frequent questions that property owners ask. While reading, consider that all of these guidelines are specifically for the Trust Zone Program, which is a beta deployment. These guidelines could relax as the project progresses.
✅ Good distance to at least three other suitable locations, ideally in the range of 300m to 3000m.
✅ Line-of-Sight to at least four other suitable locations. Locations should be outdoors with optical visibility to at least three other suitable locations (at least four locations in total).
✅High Elevation. RF transmission is typically better when at least a few meters above the ground. This means having access to a high location, or mounting the antenna on a mast.
✅ Minimal radio/electrical equipment within 50 meters, to reduce interference.
✅ Ability to access location regularly (i.e. at least weekly), so that equipment can be serviced. This means permission from land owners, and physical condition to access.
✅ Reliable power source available. Either an outdoor DC outlet, solar panels, or power over ethernet (PoE).
✅ Internet connectivity available. LTE modem, WiFi, Ethernet or other internet backhaul source is available and **in-range.
