👋 1. Introduction

The Hostel web-app is the window into a Trust Zone. It allows Zone Operators to monitor the status and health of their Trust Zones and individual Zone Anchors (”nodes”). It also allows Zone Operators to run experiments that evaluate the Trust Zone’s performance at localizing (compared to GPS as a benchmark). For now, each Zone Operator can only view only their respective Zone.

Keep in mind that Hostel is an application that will change much over time. The current app is in beta with functionality focused on stress-testing radios. Over time, the functionality will change to become more focused on managing Zones to create Presence Claims. With that said, we strongly encourage you sharing feedback with us, so that we can improve the app. 😄

📕 2. Glossary of Terms

• Node - either a static Zone Anchor or a portable device being localized within a Trust Zone.
• Dynamic Node - a portable radio that is localized within the Trust Zone.
• Experiment - recording of localization data from either dynamic nodes or static Zone Anchors in a Trust Zone over a period of time.
• Static Experiment - experiment in which static Zone Anchors only localize each other within the Trust Zone.
• Dynamic Experiment - experiment in which a dynamic (i.e. moving) node is localized within the Trust Zone.
• Transaction - A record of a dynamic node’s location at a particular point in time, captured during an experiment. (This functionality exists only as a proof of concept. While Zone Operators should be aware of it, it is not expressed on a blockchain at this stage).
• Analysis - background job that produces statistical data and other data derived from an experiment.

🚪 3. Logging In

For the Trust Zone Program, Hostel access will be provided to you manually. The Foamspace team will share username and password credentials with you. Here is the link to the app- https://hostel.foam.space/.

⚠️You will be prompted to reset your password as soon as you enter the app. Please do that immediately upon receiving access!

⚠️ If you forget your password at any point in time and need it to be reset, please log a ticket using the Issue Form.
