This process is only required when flashing the latest firmware to the mobile node. Your mobile node will come flashed with the latest firmware, but as new versions of the firmware are released over time, you will need to update (reflash) the newest firmware onto the mobile node.

Install the following software using the link below (note different versions for Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.)
You may need to create an account to download the software. You will need to accept the license agreement after you create an account.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Get latest for your operating system (most likely Win64 if you use windows, unless you are running a 32 bit Windows machine). Go through the installation steps and select all of the default options.
On Mac, your computer might not let you open the file since it is from an “unverified source”. To get around this, you will need to go to System Settings then Privacy & Security and enable the STM32 application to open under Security.
Also on Mac, to successfully run the install, you may need to right click on the Prg file → select Show Package Contents → Contents folder → MacOS folder → double click the macos program file.
Download the .hex or .bin file if using MacOS or Windows. Download the .dfu file for Linux.
